  • No, there is no registration fee to participate – it’s free!
  • You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of successfully registering for the 2025 Schneider Go Green Competition. This email will be sent to the address you used during registration.
  • We are all about sustainability, and making a positive impact on our planet by reducing our carbon footprint. This year we’re taking our commitment to the next level by eliminating the need for travel. The competition will be fully virtual, and students can join us from around the world in their own space.

  • The Contest is open to university, colleges, and vocational training students worldwide who:
    • Are between the ages of eighteen (18) and thirty (30) at the time of submission of the Initial Application;
    • AND
    • Are currently registered and enrolled as full/part-time students in any undergraduate program or graduate program.
  • The challenge is open globally, but participants should have proficiency in English, as the official language of the challenge will be English.
  • While registration is on an individual basis. Contest entry is open exclusively to teams consisting of a minimum of two individual registered students, and a maximum of four individual registered students.
  • All team members must be studying in the same country.
    • Team members are not required to attend the same university, nor are they required to study the same subject or be in the same academic year of study.
    • Students are not required to be permanent residents or nationals of the country in which they are studying to compete.
  • We encourage each team to be gender balanced.
  • Each individual entrant is allowed to enter the Contest as a part of only one team and to submit only one Initial Application.
  • The challenge is open globally, but participants should have proficiency in English, as the official language of the challenge will be English.
  • The theme is "Renewable Energy for Life & Livelihood," focusing on solar power applications in agriculture and microbusinesses.
  • Solutions for solar-powered agriculture (pre/post-harvesting, storage, processing) and solar-powered microbusinesses (retail, refrigeration, manufacturing).
  • Examples include:
    • Solar water pumps
    • Solar threshers
    • Solar agricultural sprayers
    • Solar cooking and storage solutions
  • Solutions should provide access to reliable energy, improve wellbeing, increase savings, enhance convenience, boost crop yield/income, improve workspaces for microbusinesses, and offer clean cooking and cooling options.
  • Participants must identify the problem, propose a solution, and articulate the expected environmental and social impacts.
  • A jury of Subject Matter Experts will choose the Top 10 Teams based on their Phase 1 submissions.
  • Top 10 Teams will develop a detailed business case that justifies their proposed solution, outlining feasibility, benefits, costs, and risks.
  • The Top 3 Teams will present their refined solutions to a jury, including a business case, presentation deck, and a 20-minute virtual presentation followed by a Q&A session.
  • After the final presentations, a global jury of Schneider Electric judges will select one team as the winner, announced via global Schneider Electric social media channels.
  • At the end of the final round, the Top 3 winning teams will be given a prize to be split evenly among each team member, pending their adherence to all requirements and obligations for the Competition.
  • A total cash prize pool of €10,000 will be awarded as follows:
    • 1st Prize: €6,000
    • 2nd Prize: €2,500
    • 3rd Prize: €1,500
  • In addition, winners will receive a Solar Family Home Kit sponsored by Access to Energy.
  • In addition, winners will be celebrated and elevated through a comprehensive promotional campaign designed to enhance their personal brand and visibility.
  • In addition, ongoing mentoring sessions will be provided by leaders from Access to Energy.

  • No, the Go Green competition is not considered to be a job, and it will not guarantee employment at Schneider Electric
